Be brave enough to fail at something new!
I started my healthy lifestyle journey back in 2008 due to a diabetes diagnosis. Instead of starting what would become a lifetime of diabetic medications, I wanted to control my diabetes with lifestyle changes.
In the past, I attempted to change my eating habits via diets, and workout routines in a quest to lose weight. But eventually I would resort back to old habits. This was the first time I was striving to make permanent lifestyle changes, not only to eat healthier and be more physically active, but to better manage my health.
Honestly, because of past failures I was doubtful if I could really make permanent lifestyle changes. But I knew if I really wanted to manage my diabetes naturally, or at a minimum delay the need for medications for a few years, I had to push beyond my doubts. Fourteen years later, I’m still here standing “two-footed” on my journey of managing diabetes with lifestyle changes! I definitely had both ups and downs. Heck, I’m on the upswing of coming from a “down” right now. But I’m still a long way off from where I started, a fasting 311 glucose level to a glucose level below 100 plus 45 pounds lighter!
One more time for the people in the balcony, be brave enough to fail at something new because you just may succeed!
Ain’t He good?
