“Just buy a dang bike!!.”
The response I received from my previous post was from one end of the spectrum, “go to Wal-Mart and get a bike like you’ve done in the past” to “go for it, get the bike you want.” Although those school of thoughts are on opposite ends of the spectrum, at least they agree on one thing, “get a bike!”
So this weekend I’m going for it, I’m picking up “the bike.” Still haven’t sold everything I’ve listed on craigslist, but what the heck, right? I gotta stabilize my glucose levels. Actually, this past week all of my gl readings have been in the mid-normal range, so just the thought of getting a bike has gotten my gl levels whipped back into shape!! Just joking!! Thinking healthy thoughts doesn’t actually replace the act of doing healthy activities, albeit a step in the right direction.
Unfortunately, the words of the French philosopher, René Descartes, “I think, therefore, I am” doesn’t apply with bicycle purchases. But the words of those famous urban philosophers, Big Boi and Andre 3000 does, “git up, git out and git somethin. Don’t let the days of your life pass by.”
Hope I don’t change my mind before the weekend.
