My friend’s story became my inspiration on this journey of taking control of my health care. Because he took control of his health care probably saved his life. Basically, the physicians were sitting around waiting on a liver donation for him. When he took ownership of his health care from the medical doctors, that’s when progress was made.
Taking ownership of your health care is not EASY. So any morsel or nugget that you can hold onto for inspiration is worth it’s weight in gold during the valleys of this journey. For me, since diabetes has a direct correlation with weight, I surmised that if I could get my weight under control I could control my diabetes. So I posted a picture of myself at my heaviest weight (260lbs) along with my “Saving My Foot” logo at my desk as tangible stimuli to keep me inspired to reach my end goal. Now I’m at 215 lbs, well that was before the holidays, so actually I’m at 218 lbs.
You’re the coach, so when things are going well you will get all of the accolades. When things are not so good, you WILL hear the nay-sayer’s, sometimes the nay-sayer may be that inner voice. During those “not so good” times the only thing you may have to keep you going is inspiration.

I was truly impressed by your inspiring story here. It touched my soul and heart, as I imagined your friend's story touched yours. I commend you for your taking action and choosing to live. It isn't an easy thing. All of us have our consequences from lifestyle, hereditary, etc. We go through life trying to take care of everything and everybody and finally in the end we are forced to take care of us. Don't know why we tend to be the last on our list of things….but you have shared something that has given me "food for thought." Thank you for sharing this….and all this wealth of information on your page. I am reading…I am reading and must check your sites as well. All my best to you and your "controlling your life." You made this bell go off in my head…cause I need to do some things for me…and our health is one of the most important things in our lives. Without it…we aren't living! Chuck, HATS OFF TO YOU! So proud of you….smile.
